The Generation R app

The Generation R app is an umbrella app that contains all lines of research within Generation R can collect digital data. The app consists of three levels, namely the Eye & Ear level, Tracking Teens level and the Mouth level.

The Eye & Ear level consists of some passive measurements and lasts 5 weeks. Eye: possible risk factors for myopia are collected at the eye level. Ear: within Generation R, hearing thresholds of participants are measured using tone audiometry. The Teeth level consists of a questionnaire that measures one's own experience of oral health (OHRQoL) and a number of questions about the last dental visit. The Tracking Teens level consists of a short questionnaire that is administered 5 times a day, for 7 days. All participants are asked general questions about daily activities, psychologically well-being and binge eating. The Eye & Ear level of the app was assessed in a subgroup in the measurement wave at age 13-14 years with 'Myopia app' and the 'Music Listening habit app'.
