Pregnancy status is a weekly assessment of the status of a pregnancy. It includes the questions: "Are you still pregnant?" and (if not) "What is the reason you are no longer pregnant?"

Universe	Adolescents, young adults, and adults from the general population (Population cohort) as well as with a high-risk profile (Clinical cohort), and their offspring (The Next Generation), selected from urban and rural areas in the North of the Netherlands at the time of the baseline assessment. Description	TRAILS Next (TRacking Adolescents' Individual Lives Survey - the NEXT generation) started in 2015 and focuses on the children of TRAILS participants from both the population and the clinical cohort. TRAILS participants are continuously recruited as they or their partner become pregnant, although some enter TRAILS Next at a later stage, or during a second or third pregnancy. TRAILS Next assesses the TRAILS participants as parents and their children during pregnancy and when the children are 3, 30, 54 and 72 months old. TRAILS Next will help to understand how parental characteristics influence the development of their children.
Purpose	The purpose of TRAILS Next is to understand how parental characteristics influence the development of their children in terms of health and disease, phychological and social problems.
