Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) - Sleep Practices, Sleep Disturbance, Sleep-Related Impairment

The PROMIS Sleep Disturbance and Sleep-Related Impairment item banks assess sleeping behavior, perceptions, and sleep quality. The Sleep Disturbance item bank assesses the perception of sleep quality, sleep difficulties (e.g., difficulties falling asleep or waking up, nightmares, etc.), worries about falling or staying asleep, and perceptions of satisfactory sleep. The Sleep-Related Impairment item bank assesses sleepiness, fatigue, and (perceptions of) cognitive difficulties during waking hours (e.g., difficulty concentrating or controlling emotions during the day). Besides sleep disturbance and sleep-related impairment, sleep practices were assessed, such as sleep routines (e.g., watching TV before bed) and sleep schedule (time of going to bed, time of waking up, etc.).
