Saliva sample

Saliva was collected using a cotton swab or a collection device, such as a tube or container (passive drool).

In NTR projects YC_BS1 and YC_BS2, children were asked to collect saliva at home on two consecutive days, for collection protocol see: https://doi.org/10.1017/thg.2012.4. In NTR project YE_ATTEF2, saliva samples were collected at home (2 days/5 samples per day) and during the visit to the university (1 day/1 sample). In NTR projects YE_COG12 and YE_COG18, saliva samples were obtained using the Salivette Sampling device to obtain four samples per day, on predetermined times, on two consecutive days (see: https://doi.org/10.1023/A:1025321609994), and by passive drool just before lunch, on two consecutive days (see: https://doi.org/10.1375/twin.9.4.558).
