Children’s Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ)

The Children’s Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ) is a caregiver report that measures temperament in children aged 3 to 7 years. Domains of the CBQ include positive and negative emotion, motivation, activity level, and attention.

In NTR project YS_5, the short form of the Childhood Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ) was used. It was measured since the second half of 2015.

Short description of the wave	The YS_5 survey is sent to the mothers around the 5th birth year of the twins (mean age = 5.52 years, SD = 0.55 years). The survey includes items on child care and school, growth, zygosity, toilet training, asthma and eczema, fine motor coordination, language development, and problem behaviors as assessed by a short version of the Devereux Child Behavior Checklist (DCB). The booklet includes an extra section for fathers of twins to report about behavior problems. From 2011 onward, items on child care and school, living and family situation were updated and items on wellbeing were added. From the second half of 2015 the short form of the Childhood Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ) was added. From 2017 the surveys no longer have a separate section for the father.

The survey includes items on child care and school, growth, zygosity, toilet training, asthma and eczema, fine motor coordination, language development, and problem behaviors as assessed by a short version of the Devereux Child Behavior Checklist (DCB). The booklet includes an extra section for fathers of twins to report about behavior problems. From 2011 onward, items on child care and school, living and family situation were updated and items on wellbeing were added. From the second half of 2015 the short form of the Childhood Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ) was added.
