Child's Sense of Competence (CBSK)

Harter's Self-Perception Profile for Children assessess children's self-perception and sense of competence.

In Generation R, an abbreviated Dutch version of the original was used corresponding to Wichstraum (1995), which contains 18 items of the original SPPC (in Dutch: Competentie Belevingsschaal voor Kinderen, CBSK). Answers were given on an adapted scale (1 = not true, 2 = somewhat true, 3 = very true), and were summed to a total score. Example items are ‘I think I am as smart as other children my age’ and ‘I find it difficult to make friends’.
