Bio-electrical impedance

Bio-electrical impedance is an assessment of body fat. Voltage measurements of weak electric currents that are sent through the body are used to estimate total body water (as a proxy for muscle mass which contains a lot of water) and, by difference with body weight, body fat (which hardly contains water).
