Blood sample

A blood sample consists of taking an amount of a person's blood from their body.

In the YOUth Baby and Child cohort, 20 mL serum and 10 mL EDTA-plasma were collected from the mother through venapunction, which were stored in 12 aliquots of serum, 6 aliquots of plasma and 3 aliquots of cell pellets. From the father, only 10 mL EDTA-plasma was collected through venapunction, which was stored in 3 aliquots of cell pellets. All samples are stored in 900 μL containers at -80 degrees Celcius. In the YOUth Child and Adolescent cohort, 20 mL serum and 10 mL EDTA-plasma were collected from the child through venapunction, which were stored in 12 aliquots of serum, 6 aliquots of plasma and 3 aliquots of cell pellets. From the parents, 10 mL EDTA-plasma was collected through venapunction, which was stored in 3 aliquots of cell pellets. All samples are stored in 900 μL containers at -80 degrees Celcius.
