Social Network Aggression Task (SNAT) - Early Childhood

The Social Network Aggression Task (SNAT) - Early Chilhood is an age-appropriate version of the Social Network Aggression Task. It aims to measure behavioral aggression following social feedback, by giving the child an opportunity to respond aggressively in response to different types of feedback provided by unknown peers.

Before the task, children were told that peers had provided feedback on whether they liked the child's stuffed animal/toy (positive feedback, green thumb up), disliked it (negative feedback, red thumb down), or did not know whether they liked it or not (neutral feedback, gray circle). Following these peers' feedback, children could press a button to break the peer's balloons. The longer they pressed, the more balloons were broken. Children were instructed to always press the button, but to choose the duration of the button press themselves. A mean button press duration and reaction time was computed per feedback condition (positive, neutral, negative).
