Hair sample

A hair sample is a collection of hair strands, which are usually cut from a person's head. Hair samples usually contain hair that has grown over the last 12 months.

In Generation R, a hair sample was obtained to quantify several sex steroids, including cortisol, cortisone, 17OHP, androstenedione, testosterone and DHEAS. 3 cm samples were taken from 100-200 hairs close to the scalp.
