Simon task

The Simon task is a selective attention task. In the computerized version of a visual spatial Simon task, subjects have to respond to the color of a stimulus. On the screen, a red or green circle appears. In case of a red circle, subjects have to push the right button, in case of a green circle, subjects have to push the left button. By manipulating the position of the stimulus, a response conflict arises. Because there is an initial tendency to react to the location of the stimuli, this results in higher reaction times and inaccuracy.
