Controlled Oral Word Association task (COWA)

The Controlled Oral Word Association task (COWA) is a subtest of the Multilingual Aphasia Exam and measures verbal fluency. In the task, participants are given a specific semantic category (jobs or animals) or letter ("r" or "t") and are asked to generate as many words as possible in that specific category or starting with that specific letter. The number of correctly provided words is then recorded.
