Infant heart rate (electrocardiography)

Heart rate is the number of times a heart beats per minute and normally ranges between 60 and 100 times for adults. Heart rate variability is the time fluctuation between heart beats.

Heart rate was registered using a precordial, three-pole electrocardiogram (ECG) lead, with a 512 Hz sampling frequency. For each participant, we manually selected 100 to 180 seconds of the ECG, where breathing was most regular.
