    Existing noise maps developed in 2012 for Rotterdam were used to assess the annual levels of outdoor noise exposure at each participant’s home address. Noise exposure levels for the Generation R Study consisted of data from residential road traffic, railway, aircraft, and industry.

    Noise at home assesses to what extent the participant is disturbed by noise in the home environment, such as noises from traffic, construction, industries, and the neighborhood. The questionnaire assesses both general disturbance and sleep disturbance, and the use of home equipments to reduce the noise level.
