Child Caregiving Involvement Scale (CCIS)

The Child Caregiving Involvement Scale assesses a parent's involvement in raising a child. Items include a) indirect partner involvement, such as attending school meetings and planning activities, b) social-emotional functions, such as direct social interaction and play, c) custodial caregiver functions, such as preparing for bed and school, and d) instructive functions, such as reading, helping with school work, and teaching the child about the world. Each item is rated on a 5-point Likert scale.

In Generation R, an adapted, 12-item version is used to assesses the partner’s (mostly father’s) perceptions of their own responsibility for specific child-care activities.
