Short Big Five Inventory (BFI-S)

The Big Five Inventory (BFI) is a self-report scale that is designed to measure the big five personality traits (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness).

Generation R uses the Short version of the Big Five Inventory (BFI-S). In the BFI-S, reporters are instructed to rate how well particular statements describe their personality. The BFI-S includes 15 items, organized into the following 5 scales (3 items each): Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness. Items are scored on a 7-point Likert scale.
