Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) 4-18

The Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL 4-18) is part of the Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA) taxonomy and is a validated instrument to assess psychiatric symptoms in both clinical and research settings. The ASEBA parent report version for youths 6 to 18 years of age (CBCL 4-18, manual version, 1991) includes the problem scales: Internalizing (withdrawn/depressed, anxious/depressed, physical complaints), Externalizing (deviant behavior, aggressive behaviour) and Other problems (social problems, thinking problems, attention problems). Internalizing and externalizing together form the Total Problems scale.

In RADAR, only the Externalizing Problems scale (33 items) was used, including the Delinquent Behavior (13 items) and Aggressive Behavior (20 items) subscales.
