Pre-Ejection Period (PEP)

The pre-ejection period (PEP) as measured through Impedance Cardiography (ICG) is the time interval between the electrical stimulation of the ventricles and the opening of the aortic valve. Variables include the pre-ejection period at rest, during orthostatic stress, and during the Spatial Orienting Task, Bangor Gambling Task, and Trier Social Stress Test.

In the first measurement wave, only the pre-ejection period at rest (supine and standing) was included.
