COSMED

COSMED consists of recorded breath-by-breath oxygen uptake (VO2) and carbon dioxide production (VCO2) during exercise measured with a telemetric gas exchange system (Cosmed K4b2, Cosmed Benelux, Nieuwegein, The Netherlands).

In YE_FITNSS, first, two exercise tests were conducted (in fixed order) on an electromechanically braked Lode cycle ergometer (type Corival) and a Lode treadmill (type Valiant) at fixed loads that are below the intensity of the ventilatory threshold for most adolescents, and finally, an incremental maximal exercise test was conducted on a cycle ergometer.
