fMRI - Social Network Aggression Task

The fMRI - Social Network Aggression Task measures brain activity during the Social Network Aggression Task, in which the child can respond aggressively in response to different types of peers.

The SNAT was presented on a screen, viewed through a mirror attached to the head coil. Functional runs of the SNAT were acquired using a T2*-weighted echo-planar imaging (EPI) technique. The first two volumes (dummy volumes) were discarded for T1 saturation equilibration. The imaging parameters used remained constant throughout the waves. During the Early Childhood Cohort wave, the SNAT consisted of 2 runs, with the first run acquiring 148 volumes and the second run acquiring 142 volumes. For the Middle Childhood Cohort waves, the SNAT consisted of 3 runs, with each run acquiring 148 volumes, 142 volumes, and 141 volumes, respectively. The volumes covered the entire brain with a field of view (FOV) of 220 mm in the anterior-posterior (ap) direction, 220 mm in the right-left (rl) direction, and 111.65 mm in the foot-head (fh) direction. The imaging protocol included a repetition time (TR) of 2.2 seconds, an echo time (TE) of 30 ms, a flip angle (FA) of 80°, and a sequential acquisition of 37 slices. The voxel size was 2.75 mm x 2.75 mm x 2.75 mm.
