Genotyping (array)

Assessment of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) as obtained through genotyping arrays.

DNA information from buccal cell samples, collected via mouth swabs, was used to determine genetic markers in DNA. The DNA was genotyped by the Genetic Laboratory of the Department of Internal Medicine (Population Genomics) at Erasmus MC using the GSA-MD array (version 3). The DNA QC was performed in PLINK. After genotyping, the 1000 Genomes Project (phase III release version 5) was used to apply genotype imputation. We computed two different polygenic differential susceptibility scores. We obtained a PGS of environmental susceptibility (PGS-ES), and a PGS for the ‘susceptibility to environmental stress and adversity’ (SESA).
