Interpersonal Conflict Questionnaire (ICQ)

The Interpersonal Conflict Questionnaire (ICQ) is a self-report scale to assess the level and affect of conflict in interpersonal relationships.

In Generation R, the ICQ was used to measure daily conflict among parents. Conflict was defined in terms of opposition and disagreement. Participants were instructed to describe only real events that involved themselves and at least one other person. The main caregiver, partner, and the adolescent reviewed a list of 10 situations for each conflict. Participants indicated whether and how often the topic was the source of a disagreement the last week and how they felt about it.
