Scale of Van der Wal - Comforting

The Scale of Van der Wal - Comforting assesses techniques used by parents for soothing a child. Mothers are presented with 10 soothing techniques and are asked if they apply them (1 = never, 2 = sometimes, 3 = often), such as rocking or giving the child their favorite cuddly toy.
