Inflammation markers - Gliadin

Inflammation markers, for instance C-reactive protein (CRP), Lymphocytes, Neopterin, Immunoglobulin E (IgE), Immunoglobulin G (IgG), and tissue Transglutaminase Immunoglobulin A (tTg-IgA), measured with traditional enzymatic tests, such as Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA).

In TRAILS, Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies to Gliadin were assessed. IgG is the most common type of antibody and an indicator of immune response against pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. Together with Glutenin, gliadin is one of the two main components of the protein gluten. In some people, gluten cause disorders such as Wheat Allergy and Coeliac Disease. IgG was assessed from a blood sample using traditional enzymatic tests such as Enzyme Immuno Assay (EIA).
